Cam Tam enjoyed a serene and happy childhood filled with love and fun activities, one of
which was her fervent passion for sketching. With her gifted talent already shown during
her early years, she started depicting the world around her, including nature, objects,
animals and people. In her teens, she transitioned to expressing her thoughts and
emotions in her more mature works. When Tran entered college, she decided to
temporarily halt her artistic hobby to focus on her studies to become a lawyer.
Nevertheless, what had been intended to be just temporary became a decades-long
postponement. When the Vietnam War ended, Tran left the country to resettle in the U.S.
She had then gone through life with ups and downs just like most immigrants to earn a
living and a new sense of existence, letting her love for painting dormant for a long, long
time. It was not until a few years back was she able to return to her first artistic love.
Not long after she began painting again, Tran’s works were swiftly recognized by her
friends and the community she lives in. Her paintings have been displayed several times at
Orange County Fine Art and Huntington Beach Art Center.
Her paintings have appeared on the e-magazines damau.organd hopluu.net. Her works
have also graced the front covers of a literary print magazine based in San Jose and two
literary books by Nhan Anh Publisher in Huntington Beach.
